Idre Fjäll pass or Idrepasset?
Idre Fjäll sells two kinds of lift pass:
- The Idre Fjäll pass is valid on Idre Fjäll's own 41 runs. That is enough for most families, especially with small children.
- The Idrepasset is also valid in Fjätervålen, Idre Himmelfjäll and Grövelfjäll. It costs a little more per day.
The Idrepasset is worth it if you want to ski at more resorts during the week. A free ski bus runs between the resorts in Idre–Fjätervålen, and at Idre Fjäll the Fjälltåget runs free between the slopes and the cabin villages.
Passes are available from one day up to a week, and the more days you buy, the lower the price per day. Youths aged 8–15 and seniors 65+ pay the same price, lower than adults.
The parent pass – two adults, one pass
The parent pass is Idre Fjäll's solution for families with small children: two adults share one pass but don't ski at the same time. While one of you is on the children's slope or resting with a tired three-year-old, the other can ski.
The parent pass costs less than two regular adult passes. If you plan to take turns all week anyway, it is a real saving, and you avoid paying for days when one of you is on the children's slope.
Children ski free up to and including age seven
Children aged 0–7 ski free in Idre Fjäll. From age eight they pay the youth price. Helmets are required for all children on the slopes, and the ski school groups start as early as age two – more about them in Idre Fjäll ski school.
Book early – and online
It is always cheaper to buy the lift pass online than at the ticket desk, and the discount is biggest if you book more than 40 days before arrival. The discount is deducted automatically in the booking and does not apply to season passes.
You can also get a receipt for the Swedish wellness allowance (friskvårdsbidrag) when you buy online – check with your employer that skiing qualifies.
For the sports holiday weeks, alpine lift passes could not yet be booked in October, only trail passes. Booking for February and March opens later.
Season passes
Season passes are available both for Idre Fjäll and as an Idrepasset. They are valid from 19 December to 4 April and cannot be combined with other discounts. A season pass already pays off if you ski for several weeks during the winter.
Trail pass for cross-country skiing
If you want to ski cross-country you need a trail pass, and children aged 0–7 ski free there too. When the whole area is open there are over 100 kilometres of cross-country trails, 30 kilometres of them floodlit.
The snow guarantee
Between 19 December and 4 April, Idre Fjäll guarantees that at least 10 runs and 2.5 kilometres of cross-country trail are open. Otherwise you can cancel no earlier than three days before arrival and get your money back.
Idre is most popular during the sports holiday, and week 9 is the busiest when Stockholm, Dalarna and Värmland are off at the same time – see winter sports break 2027. If you want to compare with other mountain resorts, they are in ski trips in Sweden.
